In our hyper-connected world, men are yearning for real connection.
We’ve got group chats but no group. More followers but less friends. Hundreds of contacts and almost no one to call when the heavy lifting shows up.

I don’t think men want it that way. I think they’re thirsty for something better, and most don’t know where to find it. When it came time to move my family into our new home this summer, I didn’t see the burden ahead; I saw an opportunity for blessing. That is why I turned move-in day into The Most Moving Men’s Conference of 2026 and invited friends from all backgrounds and ages to join us.

Six extra-large PODS sat in front of our new house, and unloading them alone would have taken a full week.

Instead, more than 40 men showed up.

Some had known me for years, and others I'd met just weeks earlier. After a quick prayer over the men, we started unloading with one simple goal: finish in less than an hour.

What happened next blew me away.

When dozens of men work as one team, heavy work gets light. Each guy carried a little, so no one had to carry a lot. We blew past the halfway point on the PODS faster than I thought possible. It was the most efficient move I’ve ever seen.

But the best part wasn’t the speed. It was watching my friends do cool things together and seeing their friendships form and strengthen along the way.

The Thirst Is Real

Pickens Calhoun, a guy I’d met only two weeks earlier, said it best. In his experience, young men in their mid-twenties yearn for community, and many don’t know where to find it. He was a stranger when he arrived. He walked out with new friends, a handful of phone numbers, and conversations worth keeping.

That’s a modern-day barn raising. Not a program. Not a networking event. Just men showing up, working shoulder to shoulder, and being moved by community.

To capture our adventure and encourage others to build meaningful friends and stronger communities, Undivided Life partnered with Alex Trevino and AMT Media to produce the mini doc, Moved By Community. This 7-minute short film highlights some of the simplest ways to build stronger communities with those around you:
