Attracting Great Talent Doesn't Require Luck

It’s impossible to attract great talent in today’s job market.

We are told this every day. Then we repeat it over and over.

And for most companies and most leaders, this false narrative becomes their truth.

But it’s not true for the organizations and leaders that view great company culture as a competitive advantage. For these trailblazers, culture is the strategy of how work is done - - from the initial job descriptions and the interview process, to onboarding and regular coaching, to how the company approaches teamwork, compensation, celebration, reprimand, performance improvement, terminations, and everything in between.

Great company cultures should promote human dignity, create highly aligned but loosely controlled systems for execution, provide incredible autonomy, stretch and develop each person to aim for excellence while taking risks and learning through failure, and ultimately promote the kind of human flourishing that allows each team member to become the best version of themselves outside of work for their faith, family, and friends.

Is it impossible to attract great talent?

I didn’t have that issue at my last company because the rest of the energy industry knew we were taking a different approach to building and supporting our team.

But what about today?

We are less than a year into a start-up, and we could not be more excited by the incredible future employees we have waiting to join Undivided Life and the ecosystem of companies we are launching. These people are all stars in their craft, and more importantly, they believe that work is a place to be formed and to bless others.

Over the coming years, we will be adding ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐˜‚๐—น๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ to implement the Undivided Life Operating System for strategy and culture, ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜€ for various business lines in our holding company that is building and/or buying businesses to utilize the operating system, ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜† ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ to launch and grow an incubator program for Catholic entrepreneurs, and ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ-๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ to help us build this ship as it sails forward.
