The Launch Pad: Inside Y Combinator


As we prepare to launch our faith-based incubator in 2024, we are meeting with startup experts, planning site visits, and studying the groundbreaking work of groups like Y Combinator. And while our incubator will focus on more than just tech startups, the basic principles of Y Combinator remain the same.

Two ideas that we love from Y Combinator include:

Fund the team and the pivot, not just the original idea – When a startup team is smart and shows promise, they often receive the initial funding and incubation with an understanding that their original idea will morph and pivot into something stronger.

People work harder on difficult problems than mundane ones – Rather than looking for easy wins and small problems to solve, startup teams should be encouraged to tackle complex problems where they can create a competitive advantage and immerse themselves into finding a meaningful solution.
